Sit with this priest in the midst of your circumstances. His enemies—your enemies—will be made a footstool. He will rule, and you will be secure. The Lord has sworn it.

David stands firm in the blessing and gladness that comes from the steadfast love of the Lord. He knows, regardless of what appears now, the end will reveal his salvation.

David goes from awakening the dawn to singing among the nations. In one verse, God underscores the responsibility we have to praise him and let his praise be known across the world—among the peoples and nations.

Redeemed people recount and rehearse the good news and praise his name—they “say so.” They proclaim. They tell of his deeds.

In Psalm 105, the people are telling of his wondrous deeds; in Psalm 106, the people have forgotten and forsaken his deeds of old. He is faithful; we are unfaithful. Wavering. Disloyal. Irresolute.

In times of loss, it's imperative to retell, or repeat, God's story to ourselves and to others.

The psalmist establishes that the Lord is very great and clothed with splendor and majesty. Not just great. Very great!

Dusty frames, wind-swept grass, or feeble as frail, the Lord does not remove his steadfast love. Stand firm upon this promise. His lavish love is from everlasting to everlasting.

In those times of need we fall before the Lord and beseech him to hear our desperate cries. We plead that he doesn’t turn his face away.

I had to preach the gospel to myself. I had to remind myself to walk by faith and not by sight. I understand David’s assertion here. I longed to remove any perverse ways from my heart.
