Did I mention my book? I want to make sure I have been clear about my recently published book, Facing Loss: Lessons of Hope from My Unwanted Journey.
It’s available and for sale.
I want it out there being used as a resource to help those who are facing loss. And I need help talking it up. Sharing it with others. Recommending it. Giving it to people who need it. Introducing it to pastors or counselors who can use it or recommend it. I need online reviews at any of the links below. If you’ve read it, I’d be grateful for more reviews.
I hope you never need my book; however, I learned in our broken world we all need to be ready to face our losses. After my loss, I read over sixty books by people who knew about grief or had experienced loss. Their stories helped me navigate my story. I’ve told many men that I don’t recommend loss, but I’ve also told them they don’t have to fear loss. However, you do need help navigating the pain, the dread, the loneliness, and the many layers of grief.
“And they have conquered him…by the word of their testimony…” Revelation 12:11
Two of my biggest lessons: Loss must be faced and not diminished. You can ignore it, but you should not avoid the pain. If you face your loss, process it, and do the hard “grief work,” there are lessons of gospel hope to discover. These two lessons gave birth to the title of my book.
I didn’t blog for the past 342 weeks just to say something I wanted to say (yes, I released 342 weekly entries without interruption for over six-and-a-half years). I was compelled to journal for my own healing. Then, I repurposed my journal and shared the blog out of a conviction to have my lessons encourage others. Now, I am releasing this book out of a weight of stewardship Amanda and I sensed. We decided to put something in the hands of those who need a guide to walk them on a journey. Fun fact: The content of this book comes from the first part of my blog, approximately 153 of the 342 weeks.
Please help me get Facing Loss: Lessons of Hope from My Unwanted Journey out there.

Amanda and I decided to invest in this publishing project to add our testimony, our voices to those seeking to comfort with the comfort received from God on a long, unwanted journey of loss.
“…so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:4
