In the midst of pain, the truth remains that the Lord is a shepherd. I’ve heard more sermons than I can count about the helplessness of sheep. I understand now more than ever.

No one is immune to loss. Jesus experienced death because of brokenness; we will most assuredly experience pain and loss.

Brokenness seems to persist unabated. But it’s only an appearance. ...You need the eyes of faith to endure the darkness of loss.

There are answers in the day of trouble. You simply have to ask. Turn to God. Complain to God. But make sure you ask of God. And then, regardless of the answer, place your confident trust in God.

Speech and knowledge pour forth day and night. God is speaking to your soul in your pain. Are you listening?

Brokenness and loss deliver pain and danger to each of us. No one is immune. Cords. Destruction. Entangled. Snares. But the Lord is the strong tower to which we run.

Sight can overwhelm faith, even though you know to walk by faith and not by sight. So, cry out to God. It’s the right thing to do. He hears and sees.

The majestic saints of the earth are the delight of God. Both words, majestic and saint, are God-infused. He alone is good. Resolutely refuse to go after other gods. Adding more brokenness to brokenness is not a good bet.

Loss requires a revisit to the foundation of your beliefs. Who gets to journey in the tent of God? Who dwells on God’s holy hill?

Fools, according to Psalm 14, are corrupt and they do abominable deeds. Abominable is defined as giving rise to moral revulsion. Foolishness leads to corruption, and God is revulsed.
